The tiniest baby ever born at a Florida hospital is finally home, just in time for Christmas.

Connor Sorensen was born four months early on June 29, weighing just 14 ounces. Doctors at Florida Hospital in Orlando gave him a 33% chance of survival.

“I literally took my wedding ring off and put it around his leg, and there was still plenty of room,” Connor’s father, Eric Sorensen  recalled to ABC News.

Babies born that early face numerous health issues because their organs are not fully developed. Connor underwent five intestinal surgeries, among other procedures.

Holly and Eric Sorensen, who had tried eight years for a baby before Connor came along, were able to bring the baby boy home for the first time Monday.

He and wife Holly had spent eight years trying for a baby before Connor came along. Early complications forced doctors to perform an emergency cesarean section 24 weeks into the pregnancy.

At less than 1 pound, Connor was the smallest baby ever to be born at the hospital. Now he weighs in at 6.5 pounds.

“I’ve been dreaming of this day for so many years,” Holly Sorensen told ABC. “It’s a Christmas miracle.”
