Three Daily News staffers tried Friday to sign up for insurance through the phone, the Internet and a “navigator.”
The results were far better than a similar test weeks ago.

The once-troubled HealthCare.gov site worked flawlessly. We moved quickly from one page to the next. There were none of the frozen pages or processing delays that have dogged the site previously.
Nor was there a problem when we tried to enroll by phone.

We got information about the various insurance plans promptly. “It’s working a lot better,” a supervisor on the phone told us. “I’ve already enrolled two people today. It’s been a good day.”
But finding a “navigator” to get face-to-face help in signing up for Obamacare on Black Friday was about as hard as finding a check-out counter with no line at Walmart. It was impossible.

We called 12 phone numbers listed on New York State’s Obamacare website. Nobody was available at 11 of them. The 12th turned out to be a Brooklyn auto repair shop.
