Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed he has been terrified of sharks ever since he got trapped inside a cage with a gigantic Great White.
“The Wolf of Wall Street” actor told The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday how he narrowly cheated death during a diving expedition in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2006.
The Hollywood star, on a break from filming smash movie “Blood Diamond,” was inside a cage when the killer beast somehow ended up joining him.

“They actually said in 30 years this has never happened,” the 39-year-old told the show’s host.
“But the tuna kind of got stuck on the top of the cage and the great white leapt out and tried to bite it and went into the cage with me,” he added.

‘The Great Gatsby’ actor’s encounter with a Great White shark left him ‘mentally scarred.’
With half of the shark’s body inside the metal structure, DiCaprio said he “flattened down at the bottom.”

“It was this far away, and it chomped a few times but I survived it,” he revealed.
The actor said he’d been invited on the expedition by an organization which protects sharks, but confessed that the incident had left him “mentally scarred.”
“I don’t want to do that any more, but I don’t want to discount their work because they’re doing great stuff. But it was absolutely terrifying,” he added.
