Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie as teenagers: ‘#ThrowbackThursday @nicolerichie and I being oh so cool at 13 years old.’

Fresh-faced and flashing toothy grins – this is Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie when they were just 13-years-old.

They may now be two of the most successful reality TV stars around, but back in 1994 they were awkward teens with the world before them.

Kardashian and Richie, slightly less awkward.

Kardashian, 33, potentially embarrassed her long-time friend Richie, 32, by posting the old school thumbs-up snap on Instagram.

“‘#ThrowbackThursday @nicolerichie and I being oh so cool at 13 years-old,” she wrote.

Keeping up with the Kardashians, before it was cool. Kardashian posted a photo of Richie with her sisters: ‘Happy Birthday @nicolerichie!!!! Seems like yesterday we were 14!!! Love you’

It’s not the first time she’s lifted the lid on what life was like growing up in a posh Los Angeles community.

Two years ago the mom-of-one, engaged to rapper Kanye West, uploaded a picture of herself and Richie posing for the camera with her other siblings.

Richie shot to fame in the reality series “The Simple Life” with co-star Paris Hilton, while Kardashian later gained fame with “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”
