But, remarkably, the 71-year-old regained her vision over the festive period. She first realized her sight was returning when she could make out the shape of a chandelier in her house in Ljungby, southern Sweden, The Local reports.
“I thought that I was dreaming or that I was in heaven. It was unreal,” The Local reported her as saying, citing Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

“I’ve lived in this apartment for nine years but have never seen it.”
Sjoo broke down in tears when she realized what was happening. She claimed she had resigned herself to never seeing again.
“It’s exciting when I go out, the people that I meet. If I have seen them before and if I know them. You can’t explain it really. It’s a feeling that you just can’t describe.”
She is due to undergo medical tests in the very near future, reported The Local.
