The vodka isn’t made with hot sauce from Huy Fong Foods, the California-based company that was recently ordered to temporarily shut down production of its famous hot sauce because area residents were complaining of watery eyes and breathing problems.

UV Sriracha chili pepper flavored vodka is the perfect ingredient for Bloody Marys, the company says.
The flavor, a proprietary blend created by Phillips, does have a lot in common with the familiar red condiment: it’s spicy but not overwhelmingly hot, smells a bit like garlic, have a vinegar kick and a surprisingly sweet finish. In a press release, the company explained the sauce was modeled after the traditional condiment, which comes from Si Racha, Thailand.

Fans of the spicy sauce have been able to buy Srircha flavored potato chips, beef jerky and lollypops, but this is the first Sriracha vodka.
It’s not UV Vodka’s first time at the flavored vodka rodeo. The Minneapolis-based company makes varieties like chocolate cake, pink lemonade and salty watermelon.
