‘She’s A Homewrecker’ website exposes, shames mistresses

Scorned wives and girlfriends looking to publicly shame and call out the “other woman” have plenty of places to go online, but one site in particular has been getting a lot of attention.

She’s A Homewrecker is like a modern-day scarlet letter or a cyber-burn book. The controversial website, which is about a year old, gives jilted lovers a forum to posting pictures and private information about the “homewreckers,” who are commonly referred to by all kinds of colorful names.

Sometimes the mistress’ home address or phone number is given along with her full name, while the person accusing them remains anonymous.

Its founder, who goes by the alias Ariella Alexander, told ABC’s Nightline that these posts will show up in Google searches and follow the adulteresses around for a long time.

She’s A Homewrecker also has a popular Facebook site.

The site has been criticized for encouraging “cyberbullying” and “slut shaming,” but Alexander told ABC’s Nightline that she doesn’t see ShesAHomewrecker.com that way.

“If women love women so much, women wouldn’t be sleeping with other women’s husbands,” she said in an interview with the program. “I didn’t start this. I created a platform. I’m not begging people to expose their homewreckers. They choose to use it.”

And use it they do. The website even has a popular Facebook page, which has more than 252,000 likes, where readers can ask for advice and share their stories.

She’s A Homewrecker is perfectly legal because doesn’t create the accusations, it just hosts them, according to NBCNews.com.

Dana Scott is one of the hundreds of women who has found her name on the site.

The 29-year-old told Nightline that she ended her affair with a married man after she became pregnant with his child and realized that he was never going to leave his wife. She said she reached out to her lover’s wife and apologized multiple times.

Since appearing on ShesAHomewrecker.com a couple months ago, Scott and her young son have received blistering emails from complete strangers. She also fears she won’t be able to get a nursing job after she finishes school because of what a future employer will find when he or she Googles her name.

The woman whose husband cheated on her with Scott told the Daily News that she was really upset when she found out Scott was pregnant.

Dana Scott told ABC’s Nightline that she has received scathing emails from strangers since her ex-lover’s wife made a post about her on the site.

“I blame my husband too but here she was celebrating when I was trying to piece things back together,” she said. “I could never get that out of my mind.”

She admits that she didn’t expect it to generate the kind of backlash it did. However, she told The News that she has tried to work it out with Scott but her attempts have been met with hostility.

When asked why she decided to single out Scott on She’s A Homewrecker, the woman said, “she hurt me so bad that I just want her to hurt as bad.”

While She’s A Homewrecker puts all the focus, and often the blame, on the other woman, there is He’s A Homewrecker, the male equivalent.

“HesAHomewrecker.com is here to expose the Cheating Man in your life who has broken your heart into pieces or the man who just couldn’t stay away from your wife/girlfriend,” the site’s description reads.
