Michael Bloomberg suits are made especially for him by a father-and-son tailor duo in Brooklyn’s Bushwich district.
Hizzoner’s a hipster — sort of.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg revealed Monday he treks all the way to “a dumpy warehouse” in Bushwick for his custom-made power suits.
He told Women’s Wear Daily that he frequents Martin Greenfield tailors, a family-owned factory that’s been around since the 1970s and counts President Barack Obama and ex-President Bill Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly among its classy clientele.

Martin Greenfield, pictured, may not be a household name like Oscar de la Renta, but the latter is merely a friend of Michael Bloomberg — not his exclusive haberdasher.
“I get all my suits from [this] tailor in Brooklyn,” Bloomberg told the fashion publication, showing off the label as proof. “Every suit. And they’re cheaper than Paul Stuart, where I used to get my clothing.”

Tod Greenfield, who works with 85-year-old dad Martin Greenfield crafting clothes, says the magic lies in the hand stitching, which allows the suits to “wear better over time.”

Interior French seams are just part of what make Martin Greenfield clothing fit so well.
“As opposed to an engineered suit, when it looks best when it’s on the rack, [our suits] are able to mold to the shape of your body and fit better the longer you wear them,” said the younger Greenfield, 53.
He won’t reveal the price tag of the mayoral menswear, but says Hizzoner pays “over $ 1,000” for his ensembles.
Bloomberg reveled in the gentrification of the outer borough under his tenure.

“I was out there the other day to get a new sport jacket and I come outside — and this is in a dumpy warehouse part of Brooklyn — and there’s a juice bar across the street and another fancy place,” he said. “The whole neighborhood is changing.”
In the article, Bloomberg’s fashionable pals like top designer Oscar de la Renta heaped praise on the mayor.
De la Renta said that he and his wife, along with Bloomberg and girlfriend Diana Taylor, shared meals together far from Hizzoner’s upper East Side townhouse.
“At least a couple of times a month, we will have dinner quietly,” said the fashion designer. “Never, ever in a fancy restaurant. We’ve had rice and beans in Washington Heights.”
