Dustin Hoffman will be continuing with his consistent work schedule. The two-time Oscar winner is set to begin filming Roald Dahl’s ‘Esio Trot’ alongside Dame Judi Dench in the fall.
Dustin Hoffman had a cancer scare but was successfully treated, People reports.
“It was detected early, and he has been surgically cured,” his rep, Jodi Gottlieb, told the magazine. “Dustin is feeling great and is in good health.”
In an attempt to minimize the chances of recurrence, the 75-year-old actor will now undergo doctor-recommended preventive treatments.
While his rep confirmed Hoffman had cancer and was cured of it, she declined to include any further details on the type of cancer he had or the treatments he underwent.

The two-time Oscar winner was busy promoting his directorial debut film, “Quartet,” last year and just finished up work on Jon Favreau’s “Chef” in July.
Continuing with his steady workflow, Hoffman is set to begin filming Roald Dahl’s “Esio Trot” alongside Dame Judi Dench in the fall.
Having acted since the 60s, Hoffman fought back tears in a video that went viral recently when talking about his 1982 film “Tootsie” as he explained why the comedy was never funny to him.
In the film, he played a female character named Dorothy Michaels, but after several rounds in makeup, he still didn’t feel he was pretty enough to be female onscreen.

After the makeup team indicated they could do no more to make him look more “beautiful,” the actor had an eye-opening experience.
“It was at that moment I had an epiphany, and I went home and started crying,” he told AFI, emotionally stating that society has brainwashed the public with specific standards of beauty.
“There’s too many interesting women I have … not had the experience to know in this life because I have been brainwashed.”
