Ariel Winter will continue to live with her older sister, as the judge in her case stands by his original ruling from March 29, where he granted guardianship to Shanelle Gray.
“Modern Family” star Ariel Winter continues to be embattled in her own family drama with mother Chrisoula Workman.
In a new court order, the 15-year-old actress’ mom has been denied the request to regain custody over her.

The judge in the case has decided to stand by his original ruling from March 29, where he granted guardianship to Shanelle Gray, Winter’s older sister, reported the Associated Press.
The order was first set in motion when documents were filed alleging that Workman physically and emotionally abused her daughter.

The ‘Modern Family’ star’s mother allegedly physically and emotionally abused her daughter, resulting in her losing custody.
Workman denied the allegations of abuse, however the judge said he has seen no evidence that the mother and her child have repaired their strained relationship.
Trouble between the two reportedly started brewing when Workman disapproved of Winter’s romance with actor Cameron Palatas.

Winter’s sister’s attorney told the judge last year that Workman “slapped, hit, pushed” Winter and deprived the teenager of food.
This led to Winter obtaining a restraining order against her mother.
“I’m the one being abused here,” Workman told the AP Wednesday. “I’m doing this for all stage mothers. This could happen to any of them.”
A trial date is set for Sept. 16 to decide whether Gray’s guardianship over her little sister will be made permanent.
