French dad builds son an airplane flight simulator in his room

A young French boy is counting planes to get to sleep after his dad built a giant Boeing 737 flight simulator in his bedroom.

Waiter Laurent Aigon, 40, spent five years — and thousands of dollars — re-creating a realistic replica of a cockpit, which makes the user feel like they’re 38,000 feet up in the air.

The wannabe pilot scoured the world buying expensive parts that would make his fake aircraft seem like the real deal.

With a series of special monitors, he can pretend to be traveling to far-flung destinations such as Brazil and Australia.

But it’s unclear who the boy’s toy is actually for, because despite claiming his son is obsessed with planes, he now has to bunk down on a bed crammed into the corner of the room.

Aigon has already attracted attention from the Institute of Aircraft Maintenance at Bordeaux-Merignac, where he was invited to lecture, according to Sudouest.

He is now hoping to complete a five-year course that would allow him to build flight simulators for a living.
