Ski champ Vonn injured during downhill training, being evaluated

American Olympic skiing star Lindsey Vonn reportedly injured her knee while training downhill Tuesday morning at the Colorado ski resort of Copper Mountain.

Ski Racing magazine first reported the accident on its website and provided few details beyond a U.S. Ski Team’s representative confirming the crash and disclosing that she will immediately undergo imaging tests on one of her knees.

The news comes less than three months after Vonn, the reigning Olympic downhill champion, returned to snow following a serious knee injury in February.

Vonn, the most decorated American ski racer of all time, was training hard in Colorado in recent weeks in preparation for a long competition season that peaks with February’s Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
